Reviews and Ratings
I had a wonderful experience staying at the hotel in the Jessie Matthews Suite. The room offered stunning views, delicious food, and great hospitality. The highlight was the amazing bathroom with sea views. However, the storm Eunice did cause some inconvenience, leading to an unexpected extended stay. The location is fantastic, steeped in literary history and boasting excellent black-tie dinners with live music. The lack of a television but a replica Roberts radio added a charming touch to the glamorous Art Deco hotel on the beautiful island.
The hotel had a mix of unique features, with a spectacular room offering lovely views but lacking some amenities in the Malcolm Campbell suite. I was excited about the mermaid pool but found the experience a bit underwhelming. The 1920/30's style rooms were interesting, but the absence of tea or coffee facilities was a downside.
My stay at the hotel was a delightful experience overall. The rooms were lovely, filled with authentic deco furniture and imagery, offering breathtaking views over the bay. While a refurbishment could enhance the experience, the great sea views and balcony for champagne popping made it special. The service provided was exceptional, with room service, dry cleaning, and housekeeping ensuring a comfortable stay. The location was exceptional, steeped in history and offering scenic views across the bay, perfect for exploring the area. The dining experience was a mix, with some glamour but room for improvement in the quality of the pre-cooked meals. The facilities available added convenience to the stay.
